Join Blossom Trail Players in their fourth season as we celebrate the birthplace of modern musical theater, New York City! BTP is pleased to present Guys and Dolls as its fourth-ever mainstage production, but there's a ton more in store for audiences.
The evening will begin with the BTP Jazz Combo (comprised of members of this year's orchestra) performing Broadway and jazz standards as audiences arrive and take their seats. At 7:15 pm, the brand new BTP Junior Company (founded through a generous grant from THE WONDERFUL COMPANY) will take the stage in its debut performance presenting an original show that's an ode to New York itself, comprised of original music and a medley of some all-time favorite songs about the city that never sleeps.
Then, at 7:30 pm, it's gamblers meets gals in Broadway's favorite story of mismatched couples! Consummate con-man Nathan Detroit needs money to keep his illicit craps game. Enter Sky Masterson, a high-rolling gambler who can't resist a good bet. Nathan bets Sky the needed amount of dough that he can't successfully woo any girl of Nathan's choosing. When Nathan picks the straight-and-narrow Sarah Brown, a religious evangelist, the bet sets the trio and Nathan's long-term fiancée Adelaide on a hilarious path in which the right bet may simply be giving into one's own heart. The show thought of by many as Broadway's most perfect musical comedy—evidenced by its frequent professional revivals and the bevy of awards to its name—sports some of musical theatre's most recognizable tunes and characters.
During intermission, join us on the rooftops of the Big Apple as our themed concessions café offers some New York favorite treats! In addition to the entertainment, on the nights of Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23, be sure to visit the art gallery located next to the concessions café featuring artwork from some of the Valley's favorite artists.
